When was the last time we had the feeling that time was passing slowly? With the ever-advancing digitalization and the perceived shift of our social lives to social media, our sense of time seems to have changed permanently. In "Long Days," Julie Fox sings about the days when time seems to move more slowly. It's a love song to the simple, non-instagrammable life, at home in the bedroom, in the kitchen or garden, or out and about with the person by your side whom you love and with whom you've shared the same daily routine for years - a joyful and positive "protest song" against the fast-paced, perfectly staged, ever-changing life focused on your own happiness and optimization.

The acoustic instrumentation of the song underlines the feeling of "back to the roots" that the song wants to convey. The combination of acoustic guitars, banjo and simple percussive elements, which can also be found in old-time as well as contemporary Americana music, gives the song the kick and lightness it needs to sound joyful and effortless despite the profundity of its message.
